Question about starting up.

Back when the game was first released(I had preordered it) and now that I have come back to try it again my plan had been to level two characters. One focused on DoW and one on DoM. Reading around it seems most people just play one single character. Is it smarter just to focus on one character? How does one work around attributes? I could easily give up my Hyur and drop the payment on the second slot. Just looking for some insight.

Classes don't share stats anymore, but you get different stats for each of your classes. Therefore it's more convenient to just level all classes on one character. :)

It is better to work on one character. As of right now a single character has access to all classes/jobs/crafts, and as Evy stated, each class has its own points/stats now. The only reason you should want multiples is either for aesthetics or roleplaying.

One reason you may want another character is for the story. So far I don't think there are plans to let players switch their main scenario/grand company allegiance/story. In 2.0 Legacy members will have 8 character slots per world for 1 price.

That's all my other chars will be for, and of course when I have capped everything and get it in my head to do it all again.
