Machinist question

Sorry first time on the forums so if this is in the wrong place I apologize.

Just wondering if it is worthwhile rolling a Machinist as my latency to US servers is around 152, up to 157 at most. I watched a pile of videos, read everything I could, but everyone says something different.

I love how they look and from what I have seen of them they seem fun to play, but I don't want to start one only to find I'll be playing something else because it's pointless with my internet speed.

Any help or advice would be great! Oh and I don't know what I will be doing later on with it, I'm still new and have no clue what max level content is really all about.

This is the only thing that matters.

No job suffers from latency so much worse than other jobs that it trumps this.

As long as you can hit 5 heat blasts in a hyper charge window you’re good, if ping allows weave each heat blast with a gauss round or ricochet, if ping clips you on that and you drop a blast empty all charges before going in.
