Hello, I've been using an xbox series X controller for a few months. This situation has happened with ps4 controllers as well. My controller has decided to randomly move me and my screen without me doing it. For example i sprinted and it made me sprint into the wall of death and I died. It's turning my screen either left or right when it wants or the D pad freezes. Is this a steam issue?

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this issue happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running?

Yes it seems to happen with FFXIV. It just recently started acting up. I’ve tried updating drivers it says everything is fine, I’ve used it Bluetooth and wired and it’s causing crazy things. It’s making the screen turn 180 degrees, my dpad sometimes isn’t responding and when I’m sprinting or walking when I want to stop it’ll continue for a moment.

Does this issue occur only with Final Fantasy XIV? Additionally have you tried plugging the controller into a different port? I would also advise to reinstall the controller drivers if possible.
