Log in problem

When trying to log in I am meet with the whole setting up scenario you would see when 1st ever starting this game but when I get to my characters it still states its there but unable to locate character config data I have not messed with any files at all nor have i installed any mods does this mean something in those files is corrupted if that is the case then is there a way I can fix that maybe reload a old save before it happened?. Also sorry if I posted this in wrong thread 1st time having to do this

You may want to try deleting the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.
