A home for jobs...
Many moons ago... when jobs were first mentioned, I asked if the coming of jobs would signify the opening of Ishgard...
The answer was an obvious "NO"
Now I am a very positive person and I love what the team is doing with this game....
All I want to know is, will jobs ever have a home?
Right now we are :
Monks with no monastery or temple
Dragoons with no dragons to fight
Paladin with no King, country or church (Even though that was kind of explained in the quests)
White mages with no church
Warriors I can understand having no home... but I would have liked to see a tribe of some sort
Bard's can be solo wanderer's or belong to a collective... I can absolutely accept either way
Black Mages working out of a funeral home guild?
It just seems like Ishgard would have been the home to many of these....
Come on... didn't it seem like a punch in the face when your quest hub for becoming a dragoon (A member of Ishgard's dragon fighting army) was just outside the Ishgardian gates...
That has to hit you DRG's in the stomach
Obvious counterargument guy: Well at 2.0 they'll probably change the lore for the classes, have Ishgard open and possibly even change the job quests to fit
To that I say then maybe (And you all are going to HATE me for saying this) jobs should have waited until then
I am not complaining... I actually enjoy the jobs very much... they just seem a little "Homeless" right now

I agree.
Lets hope the CNJ lore changes in 2.0 -- and they get a proper guild/church.
It makes no sense as is.

tbh, much of the lore needs to change with 2.0 :(

I AS A WARRIOR NEED NO HOME! GO AWAY WITH YOUR HERESY!!!
lol... I can totally see each job having a 'home', actually. Would be nice to see far more job-specific quests.

A castle-like fortress for roaming Paladins to call homebase? Absolutely.

The lore has to change. Dalamud is suppose to change the world right. If the moon hits the planet, its not going to change the landscape and give so fun, interesting looking terrain, it will kill most of the life on the continent and level all the cities and landmarks we have (i doubt the moon itself would collide with us, maybe an attack from dalamud).
Somehow magic or the gods will change the world to save it

A brilliant OP, well done sir! What we have now is lacking.

I really agree with this. Part of what made me so attached to my jobs in FFXI was the fact they had a home they signified, and hero whom you looked up too that guided you on your journey. I remember as a fledgling BLU and I "officially" changed my allegiance to Aht Urhgan lol... got so bad with role playing my jobs histories that me and my friend will have battles where he would end up calling me a squid face lol>.>.....
But SE needs to make some way for us to feel nostalgic about our jobs, as of yet everything feels kinda automated, I haven't gotten that feeling that I'm part of a special order, or an elite mercenary, and I really want that feeling!

For a while before jobs were released, I was pondering over an idea that the gods were granting adventurers these powers to better prepare us against the ending of the world. For in the last story line cutscene, if you started in Ul'dah, Thancred says "Yet you have also been blessed, woken...If you would seek the One who gave you that power, you could be granted much more." But I guess this is more about the echo and knowing all of the different beast tribe languages and such.
