Final step on the crafting tools seems a bit much?

I guess I didn't even notice there was another step added to the artisan tools in this game until the fete leves and coming back to ishgard, but these seem rather crazy with the amount of materials and effort needed.

If you get the tool does it eliminate some of the RNG on the crafting for the current endgame recipes? I mean I'm just someone trying to save a little money on raid tier food and tinctures, so most of my time is being spent doing savage. Can the penta-melded tools work well enough as a replacement?

You don't need them.

If your a casual crafter like me, you can barely even make the items to get the final upgrade. In full white script gear + purple tool + specialist job stone, you have just barely the minimum craftsmanship skill. Control is still under so need the best food available to boost it up enough to even try to make the items. It is very much a turn off for me. It’s almost worth waiting until endwalker so I can get level 81 gear which will then have needed stats plus 2 guaranteed matria slots for extra boosts. If it’s anything like the last expansions the fully upgraded tool will last till lvl 90 for basic recipes.

The real *cough* fun *cough* comes with the resplendent tools they added.... 3x as hard combines per tool... but get fancy title after collecting all 8!

I did all 8 crafting and all 3 gathering skybuilder's tools to completion.

They really aren't that bad. The final step for each was like 25 crafts on average for me.

It's nothing like the new tools this week which're both ugly ugly ugly, and take more crafts for 1 crafter than the entirely of all 8 on the skybuilders for worse stats.

Quick question, are you utilizing Careful Observation at all? If not I would heavily recommend using it as it's a game changer in the craft game.

I'm just grateful it's not like making a crafting shield is on FFXI.
