Active Set vs Aetherial Mimicry
Date & Time: 4/14/2021 11:24 AM
Frequency: Always
World name: Adamantoise
Character name: Anrita Lakshmi
Class/Level: Blue Mage 70
Party or solo: Solo
In-game time: Noon
Steps:
1. Save an active set including "Aetherial Mimicry"
2. Activate "Aetherial Mimicry"
3. Attempt to load the saved active set
This produces an error message, "Cannot remove an action from set while effect is active". It appears that loading an active set follows this workflow:
1. Remove all spells from Active Actions.
2. Set all spells according to their positions in the saved set.
It should, instead, be using this workflow:
1. Remove all spells that are not in the saved set from Active Actions.
2. Reposition the remaining spells to match their positions in the saved set
3. Set all missing spells from the active set
This would prevent the attempted removal of "Aetherial Mimicry" in cases where a player tried to load a set including "Aetherial Mimicry". This is very important, because if a player in a dungeon wants to change sets, and does not have an appropriate party member to mimic (e.g. is in a party consisting entirely of Blue Mages, or is playing solo), they would need to leave the dungeon to return to a major population hub to hunt down a player of an appropriate job/class to reactivate the effect. It would be less burdensome to ignore the active set feature entirely, and manually record and adjust Active Actions as if the active set feature didn't exist.
