Harsher Penalties for People who leave a Duty With new members.

It would be nice if people who Bail on a Duty with new people had a harsher penalty than a mere 30 minute lockout. I have on Numerous occasions run into situations where Castrum Meridianum would have to disband even with someone being new to the event because half the party split (Praetorium as well but not as often). One suggestion is to make it 'Eat' your Roulette bonus for the day when you enter so people do not leave trying to get the better EXP from Praetorium. Another option is if someone is new to the run make it an hour or more lockout instead of only 30 Minutes.

Harsher penalties for leaving Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium would not address the real problems.

1. Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium need to be reworked into light party (4-person) dungeons with long cutscenes before queuing and after leaving, but not during; or into solo+NPC duties with cutscenes as they are.
2. The series of bosses that begins with the elevator fight need to be separated into one or two full party (8-person) trials, with long cutscenes before queuing and after leaving, but not during.

If you try to hold people hostage with harsher penalties, there will be people who will just AFK at the entrance and wait for you to kick them.

No. We already have penalties in place and it's just fine how it is.

Plus, how would the game distinguish between a new player and an alt? This seems like a suggestion based on emotion rather than logic

My preferred solution(the one that makes ALL the problems go away) for years has been to make these solo duties with an NPC party(then split out a separate super flashy trial for the ultima fight - lahabrea probly becomes a final one on one showdown). They seem to have 2 or 3(maybe even 4?) separate systems for NPC party members(squadron, trust, solo duties, and companion/pet) so they would just have to pick one and set it up for the dungeons in question. We have several scions available(some of whom havent gotten much screen time yet, some we already know well enough) to help along with members of all 3 grand companies, so plenty of options to put the party together. Leave the cutscenes as is during the dungeons, the ultima related ones then slate in before the trial que and after the fight, and finally delete the MSQ roulette since there are no longer any MSQ instances. No more people leaving Castrum because they want more exp for their roulette, no more people leaving Prae because they want tomes and a shorter run for THEIR roulette, no more people complaining about both these issues, no more new players complaining that their runs were ruined by these previous problems. All the sane people win in this instance.

OP - In addition to the problem your solution would lead to that Rongway mentions(people AFKing/forced disconnecting at the start to force a kick), this suggestion could also lead to people kicking the new player out so they could leave without said harsher penalties. Also, why would you disband just because a few party members took off? Nothing here is terribly hard to fight, just start going while you wait for replacements. The 8 player thing is totally overkill here.

How about we cut or rework the Praeorium and Castrum since they are trash content that isn't fun even the first time?
