Unusual connection problem

Hello all.

I have a somewhat unusual problem with FFXIV, and with my limited computer knowledge, I don't know what causes it. It's not a consistent problem, making it more of an annoyance.

Some nights at 6pm Australian EST (5pm JST), I will suddenly start receiving bursts of R0 from FFXIV. I will not be able to input commands, animations will not happen, characters will not move (The usual R0 problems) but I will still be able to type things into the chatlog and receive messages from linkshell members. The streaks of R0 will last from 5 seconds to a few minutes. The longer I stay logged in, the longer the streaks seem to become. This will occur maybe 70-80% of the time at 6pm. Occasionally, it won't occur at all, but because of the annoyance of it, I tend to avoid logging in during the evenings.

I also say the issue isn't consistent, because I won't have this problem for a few months and then it will start up once again (with the 70-80% chance of R0 at 6pm).

However, while I'm R0ing in FFXIV, I am able to surf the web unhindered. There is no disturbance to websites or other devices using the same connection.

These problems have occurred in the past after updates to FFXIV. I have done nothing on my end to resolve the issue at any point (I have tried disabling things to get a result, but nothing. The issue just resolves itself, usually after an update.)

Has anyone else had a problem like this, and if so, were you able to resolve it?

Also: The R0 does not cause me to crash, or give me an "unable to connect to server" message. I will remain logged in, but unable to do anything until I get a burst of connection. If the R0 is still present after a few minutes, I will normally force-crash FFXIV and restart.
