In the upper left hand corner of my screen the quest "Fire in the Gloom" has been there for a long time.
I have already completed the quest "Tam-Tara Deepcroft once. Do I just keep doing this quest over again until at some point Mother Miounne will be satisfied and offer me the next quest in the chain of required quests?
Am I somehow overlooking some important step?

you're not far enough in the story yet to join a grand company. This is actually part of the main scenario after your character completes a major upcoming feat that has all three grand companies petition you to join them. It can't be missed, just keep progressing the main scenario and you'll get to it soon!

02-14-2021, 11:38 AMPentheaYea you literally can't miss it. It's impossible to complete the main story without choosing a grand company. There will come a point in the story in which you must choose who to join and you cannot progress until you do.Quote:

1. Speak to Mother and pick up the quest - she should have a gold coloured quest marker with this step.
2. Do the tam Tara deepcroft Dungeon which you can get to by pressing U for dUty (did you complete the dungeon with 3 other people?)
3. Now, return to gridania and Speak to Mother again - she should have a green coloured quest marker with this step.
Then she will then give you a new quest, "Call of the Desert"
