Sadly I don't think blue mage spells are good evidence for what real jobs can get access to and 17 hits is kind of a lot for a tank ability.
I could see "Lion Heart" being a skill that resets Cartridge skill cooldowns. That'd be a pretty stupid burst phase.
How would you fit the 17 hits in a animation window of 1.5-2 sec?
not really that much tho, i am pretty sure they are going to have upper limit potency for what every ultimate skill tank will get at level 90, then just divide it to 17, and you will get pots of each hit, just like triple trident of BLU, unbuff version, each hit will deal 150 pots, in total will be 450 pots, that kind of normal in BLU point of view if you count how that job can easy spam 400 pots instant cast spell for 15 seconds like no tomorrow
I’d look at flurry kick more than triple trident or Matra magic. Have it so the GNB channels a flurry of slashes for the duration and pressing the button again ends the flurry with one final big hit. I’d say it would be an interesting mechanic considering the point of a gunblade is to time a strike for maximum damage it would actually be something that fits with the job (unlike the entire rest of its kit).
I could see lionheart being an ability when lets you use continuation after any action for a while.
or it can only active after your continuation combo, just like how renzokuken turn into lionheart in FF8
