Det, SPS, DH clarification

Sorry if there is any old posts about this. I no doubt know crit is a must for every class (3.9k almost 4k cant wait). I been having an issue on secondary stat in terms of a healer, see det information state it affects amount of healing and dps done base on how high it is. Sps claims to affects hots and dots but usually I hear only blms do sps. Finally healer gear technically do not give DH which though I see the meta for healers is if unable to meld crit cause the gear already gave the amount of crit they will instead do DH over Det. Personally since sb (which is when I began learning about melding materia and what does it do) I go for as much det possible after I meld all the crit I can. A little research of DH vs Det I saw on a chart of how much affects both heal and dps magic vs DH only affect DPS magic do not seem quite different i believe the number was something of 1.4 increase on heal and dps while dh was 1.8 , I am not sure if the chart is still accurate but, also why some healers may rarely meld sps?

Crit / Det is generally seen as the safe option because all 3 healers benefit from it.

Thank you so much, cause I be having a few friends telling me to get rid of my det and put dh or even rarely randoms and am like... well det affects both dps and heal while DH affects only my dps and maybe not a huge difference and finally healer gear do not contain dh at all, I will only DH if am unable to mail set crit/det.

Both stats have relatively TINY effects to your output to begin with. We're talking single digit % difference. Of that, on an even tinier scale, DH does beat out det in terms of damage. That said, det's damage bump is pretty close to DH's, and it provides that tiny boost to heals that DH doesn't.

When it comes to that det healing boost, the increase from det is not likely to ever actually cut out a GCD heal for you. The impact is just that small. It can help during prog with lucky heal rolls when things go wrong, stacking the odds in your favor to keep people alive by the skin of their teeth. BUT it's also extremely rare to be at a 0.1% enrage pull where the little extra oomph from stacking DH could've made the clear.

There isn't a "right" answer, so go with your gut. Don't be afraid to swap melds, especially as your progression needs change!

Pick whatever makes you feel comfy for the most part.

It depends on what you want to do. If you are doing alot of pugs you want to have an eye on your piety to make your life less stressful. If you want to min/max you should go DH.
The "increased" healing from det can be totally ignored since it doesn't help. SPS is useful until a certain threshold which you want to reach.

If you still have issue to manage your mana, you should go Piety until you feel saver.

Never meld piety, ever... your skills alone are enough to keep MP stable. If such isn't sufficient just use piety food for progression.

Typical meld order goes Crit > SpS until desired speed > DH. Don't bother with det as the current healer kit is quite excessive and you shouldn't need the marginal extra healing compared to the more damage DH would give you over Det... there is also the issue that you will not always be able to meld Det, unlike DH.

Det vs DH is the old consistent DPS vs RNG dps. Many prefer consistent DPS as well as the added benefit of extra healing.
