Look, in my opinion, there should be more stuff fore SOLDIER or Cloud's gear. A class for SOLDIER would be definitely nice and if we added a SOLDIER class, I could definitely see it being a DPS Class. Here's why: Classes like samurai have a build up bar in which they can do powerful attacks. SOLDIER could do the same concept except it'd be their own "mini limit break" set specifically for the SOLDIER class. You'd use regular attacks to build up you "mini limit break bar" in which you could use more powerful moves like Cross Slash, Blade Beam, Braver, Triple Slash, etc. Basically moves that are known to be limit breaks of Cloud it Sephiroth and other famous SOLDIER's. And obviously for limit break 3, the actual limit break, what better lb3 to have than Omnislash which would fit the SOLDIER class theme perfectly.
This is definitely something that I really want to see in the game, because other major characters have been getting the spotlight for ff14 but us ff7 got a cold one from SE (no offense SE lol) when they added the Buster Sword as a limit break and not an actual weapon glam. Squall got his class, outfit, AND weapon as a glam and not to mention, a raid set. Lightning has her weapon and entire outfit, as well, in mog station. Tidus got his own event and attire with Yuna's stuff in an event and then later, Mog Station too. We got a Dark Knight class yes, but it doesn't really do FF7 any justice because we still didn't get any gear from FF7 that's based on Cloud's SOLDIER attire and Buster Sword. Don't get me wrong, I love and have enjoyed Final Fantasy 14 since day one of me playing, but I really want to be able to glam my sword as the Buster Sword and it'd be cool to have a SOLDIER themed class if possible. I'm very thankful for everything Square Enix has wrong, don't get me wrong, but this is something I'd definitely want to see in game. And everyone has the right to an opinion so please don't go attacking me because I requested something. (T_T)

The reason why the Buster Sword became a Limit Break and was not added to the game as an actual weapon is because that Limit Break animation was from ARR's launch in 2013, when great swords as a weapon in the game did not exist (DRK wasn't added til at least two years later with the first expansion Heavensward.). And SE have just never decided to go back and change it (this is the same reason why Lightning's gunblade the Blazefire Sabre is a GLA/PLD weapon rather than for GNB as you would otherwise expect - GNB didn't exist as a Job in this game at the time the FFXIII event was run either).
There has been a lot of rumours about a FFVII themed crossover event but nothing sadly was ever confirmed or came of it (I suspect the pandemic probably didn't help - we lost year's Halloween event due to it throwing the development schedule of the game out of sync so they probably just abandoned any ideas of running a new FFVII one to tie-in with the Remake), but players did get Cloud's Advent Children attire rather than his old SOLDIER outfit from the original game as a Veteran Reward (and before you pass judgement on that, Squall's outfit here in FFXIV wasn't based on his original game appearence either - it was based on his Kingdom Hearts and Dissidia attire instead), and also his Fenrir motorcycle from the same film was added to the Mogstation (we also got Cloud, Aeris and Tifa minions to boot).
The current Weapon trial battles that are part of SHB's patch story are based on the WEAPONs from FFVII too, so we sort of have a FFVII themed (or at least ideas based on) event in the game. It's not the same as the special FFXI, XIII or XV events, but it is better than nothing.
Also it should be worth mentioning that Yoshi is on record as saying his personal favourite FF game is FFVII, so make of that what you will. -

There might be no jobs around VII (mainly because Ninja, Machinist, Monk and Dragoon takes some spot), but VII doesn't get the short end of the stick. There is 2 whole areas coming from VII. And the Gold Saucer is quite a big one.
II, XIII and XV don't have much in comparison.
I understand you're quite the VII fanboy, but this FF got a lot of references, there is currently 4 Trials about VII summons/ennemis, soon 5.
FF II got nothing beyond talking beavers and in the future, the Pandemonium. How many bosses are from FF X? Yojimbo and I don't have anything else at the moment. -

Again, I said please don't come at me for having an opinion and wanting something like that in game. >_> When y'all get all get weapons and outfits for Zidane, Firion, Tidus, Tera, Warrior of Light, Squall (which is already in game), Lightning (which also is already in game), etc., We ff7 will still be over here without a Buster Sword nor SOLDIER attire because everytime we ask for it, Y'ALL ATTACK US like piranhas about how "Ff7 sucks" or "nah too much," or "ew SOLDIER."

We all just present our counter-argument that FF7 actually get a lot of content and other FF needs a bit of love too. We're also free to have our own opinions and take account each others opinion, that is the purpose of a forum.
We are not against the outfit/sword, we are against your argumentation.
Buster Sword, Soldier outfit? Sure, why not. But your arguments are wrong. Also, this is not the right place to argue about getting items around a certain aesthetic.
