The Future, and Beyond

Hello everyone. This is actually the first time ever I'm posting something on the forum.

I am somewhat concerned with the direction the game is taking as of late. As many of you already know, there are many threads regarding the latest patch and how it has caused alot of frustration due to the poor implementation of Bozja. However, that is only scratching the surface.

To make a piece of content mandatory that was irrelevant 2 weeks after is not a wise choice. People were raising their voices and critcisms across all social media sites, and
how it was virtually impossible to complete the story of Bozja considering no one was doing Castrum at that time. Why? Because not only is it punishing, but there are no rewards worth risking all the progress that have been made.

Normally I abstain and stay silent when it comes to all things, however when you love something you will make an effort to see it grow in a healthy way.

There's other issues I've had on my mind before this happend as well. I will elaborate further.

Let's compare this expansion to the expansions before and what is currently missing.

- This expansion has the least dungeons released.

- Deep Dungeons were cut entirely.

- (Hard) Dungeons were also cut.

- Classes, especially Tanks are simplified.

- Relics are too easy to get. (now they are too difficult to get).

- Latest patch has brought new issues.

Ever since Shadowbringers was released, decisions happened and often the only argument I heard was to make it easier for newcomers. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing so many people are finding this enjoyment I felt when I first started. I can't imagine how much fun they are currently having and more power to them. But that does not erase the past, and that's exactly what I'm showing you.

All of these changes have hardened the fronts between casual and veteran players. All of the content and gameplay choices removed were midcore content providing players the chance of honing their skills, and get familiar with difficult situations, thus slowly introducing them towards harder content. This balance had its own fair share of issues, but it worked. Alas, the space between these two factions grows increasingly bigger by each patch. With the removal of content that required a moderate amount of communication, players are now finding themselves only having this experience in Savage content.

Reason I write this is to have an open discussion regarding this topic in a professional and constructive manner.

In my opinion some you can blame on Corona Virus causing major delay issues. Others are just confusing decision like putting the relic weapon behind a worse Eureka.

Isn't that what the OP is talking about? People can't be bothered to go into an instance and do CLL or whatever for 45 minutes. They've gotten so complacent that if you can't face roll and teleport everywhere they scream for a nerf. It's one thing to have some options, but the token situation is just plain bad.
And the only thing that's sacred is savage lest you incur the wrath of the raiders.

And Bozja is very much a step in the right direction. I hope we see more of that in the overworld. It's not a 100% zerg rush like all the other FATEs. At least the CEs aren't.

I think the relic weapon due to wait alone should be BiS now and add another +5 ilevel to 540 at the end.

The only thing that was cancelled because of the Virus was the Halloween event, we did not lose any other content. This means that this was planned from the start to play out this way, this is the content we were always supposed to get, just earlier.


You can blame Corona for a lot of things, Shadowbringers being lackluster in a lot of aspects is not one of those things.

Wait, are you serious? What?

No. The relic should not be 5 ilvls higher than the savage weapon.....

Is savage weapons are more convenient to get for casuals, then they bungled the concept. What was great about the Eureka Anemos was that casuals could gather together and chat at a leisurely pace. While time-consuming, the content was there for anyone willing to hop aboard the train.

The train was the best part, talk with people, hang out, help grind some, rest on others. It was like all of the best parts of the hunt trains and the train never stopped. People actually helped each other, the atmosphere was nice, Anemos in that respect was peak content for what they were trying. After that, it went down hill so fast it was like a runaway mine train.

Honestly I'm not really seeing the monumental loss people keep talking about when it comes to dungeons atleast with deep dungeons you can complain it's not here this expac (but I recall seeing an interview quote where Yoshi mentioned that he had the team look over the system and release it earlier in 6.0 I'll see if I can find it) but for normal side dungeons were they really anything but extra set dressing for tomestone capping in expert roulette? Most people I see complain about that mention that being the case. Hard mode dungeons included I say, despite the extra lore they provided. While certain classes are alot more simple, and some definitely worse for it, I wouldn't say it negatively impacted every class.

Relics are a whole other topic but they've always been difficult to get so this expac has been outlier up till now. Which aside from implementation which I can agree isn't great and will need hotfixes to patch the droprate of new memories somewhat. I hear the newcomer argument aswell, but I don't feel like it's widen the divide anymore than there already was, there are plenty of people myself included who haven't cleared anything higher than EX difficulty, if a player doesn't engage in a content type they won't SE can't change that no matter how much they want to. The HM dungeons or DD wouldn't make me a better player no matter how much I might want them to

The train was also a lot of people just standing there waiting for others to do the work so they could get rewards. You'd also get a bunch of people who couldn't get rewards and couldn't help due to being too low level participating, making the fights harder because it scaled off number of participants. It wasn't that great.
