Housing Request(s) for Devs...I know you must get a ton of theses, but....
I have seen many posts asking for an item count increase, and as our FC just upgraded from a small house to a medium, the item limit was a true concern for me as I worked to create a warm and cozy space for our headquarters. But, that said, I don’t think the item limit is the primary issue. The issue is the interior models themselves. The immovable and unusable columns every few “feet” along the walls that are spaced unevenly, the exterior window models that are far too small and immovable, and the lack of dyeable wallpaper are my chief concerns.
The reason I say that these issues are bigger than the "item limit" is the fact that many of us are hitting our item limit so soon because we are wasting items on “fixes” and “masks” for these design blockages. The Stage Screen has become an overused mainstay in most lovingly decorated homes. For a single room, this could mean anywhere from 1 to 20 or so partitions or Stage Screens just to provide us with blank dyeable walls.
Here is what I am requesting: 1) the ability to dye the White Interior Wall and Unfinished Interior Wall prior to installing it in the Remodel Interior menu. This seems, at least to my understanding of objects in the game (several have an undyeable version and a dyeable version so there is a process for copying and adding the feature in your code bank), likely the easiest addition/change to make and should require the least amount of effort.
2) Make the columns and exterior windows a toggle option in the Remodel Interior menu, either as a whole for the entire house or by floor. I assume that you use a database of pre-rendered floors for each housing district. There is an apartment, small, medium, and large 1st floor, 2nd floors for the medium and large, and basements for the three houses for each of the housing districts in the game. I would ask that new models be made for these spaces with the ability to “hide” the column and exterior window elements upon request. All of those walls in front of walls we wouldn’t need to use could account for a substantial item limit increase with no adjustment to the actual item limit needed.
Also, it would be nice if the Glade Partition and Glade Partition with Door matched in color tone. This is also an issue for the Riviera Partition and the Mahogany Door Partition and likely the Oasis set. The door partitions for these are several shades lighter than the regular partitions. I would also LOVE if a version of the White Partition with a door or doorway could be added. I adore the look of this partition and its accompanying versions, the half and the open, but a doorway would be awesome!
