Getting a house for a new Free Company

I’m beating a dead horse with saying that the housing system sucks, and there should be some kind of revamp of it. Though I’m not sure what it would be, but why is it so hard for a new FC to get a house? I was told that FC’s (those who have a plot and those who do not) had similar priority as those with plot, only to find out that’s not the case as the FC I’m in staked out a small plot for almost 18 Hrs to not get it.

This I wish there was a way for new FCs to get a plot because with how things are now, what’s the point making an FC when you can join the already established ones that have a house and everything. I have no plans on leaving the FC I'm currently in and would like to work towards seeing it grow.

The problem is the supply of houses versus the number of players and FCs who want to buy one. There simply aren't enough houses to go around.

When SE adds new wards, they will sometimes implement a personal purchase moratorium in those wards for several weeks. FCs are able to purchase and existing owners are allowed to relocate since relocation opens their old plot for purchase. Players must wait until the moratorium ends to purchase personal houses in the new wards although they still have the opportunity to purchase anything that becomes available in the old wards.

Outside of the moratoriums, the same rules apply to FC and personal purchases alike. There is no purchase moratorium at the current time. We know Ishgard housing is coming at some time in the future but SE isn't giving us details yet so we don't know if there will be a moratorium implemented when it opens.

It's people that make a FC a good FC, not a house. If someone doesn't want to join your FC just because you don't have a house yet, they're probably not worth having.
