PS5 controller button layout messed up

Hello,

I recently purchased an PS5 controller to replace my dying PS4 controller on PC.
It works fine, every other game it works fine (Rocket League for example) but when i try it on FF14 it reads most buttons as completely wrong.

For example the X button becomes the Triangle button, this is frustrating to say the least and since i have the Steam version i can get a work around working, since Big Picture mode allows me to use my controller how i'm used to.
Except Big Picture mode is global once i turn it on so it messes with other games inputs aswell, Rocket League for example gets completely screwed by Big Picture mode, while i need it for FF14, is there a fix on the way?

I get that on my PS4 controller.
I fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting the controller.
I have no idea HOW this happens on a technical level, but when your controller (re)connects with the game sometimes it does funny. I hope your controller never suddenly remaps the buttons like that while you're in the middle of Savage like mine has :D
From what I understand this is mainly for wired controllers though?

My PS4 controller never did this (maybe the occasional disconnect due to how bad micro USB is) it never remapped buttons and most games were automatically compatible with it (so i didn't need DS4windows or Steam big picture mode)
with the PS5 however, FF14 does read the controller but the button layout is completely broken (as i stated, X becomes triangle and square becomes another button etc, normally select is to go between certain UI parts but for some reason not on PS5, or R3 is not R3 but L1+R1)
Fixed this for now with Big Picture mode, but i hope they just make a proper compatibility update for it, since Big Picture mode also works for Rocket League and on there my button layout is different than what big picture mode is forcing me to use (so i have to completely disable the Playstation controller support on big picture mode to make it work properly again)
