Focus Target Buff sorting

This would be a boon to many DoT users across the board, from raiders to casuals. I know it was attempted in 5.3 but as far as I remember nothing really worked out with it. I was looking back to see if anything had been mentioned or done about it since then and this was stated in a live letter on 10/09/2020:

M "In patch 5.3 your own debuffs applied to a target got priority, can you add this to focus target as well?"
O " We could, we also discussed this in our team. Focus target only shows up to 5 buffs. If we gave your own buffs/debuffs priority here, it might not show the needed information to understand and clear a mechanic"
Y "Focus target is just a little support to the main target, if we simply increased the buff number, then its basically the same anyway"
O "For example in the current Nier Raid, the 2nd boss, the targets have different debuffs to indicate which alliance can attack them. those take space"

My immediate thought about this is, why not just bring that 'mechanic' information ahead of the persons DoT/debuffs? Surely that is doable and would satisfy everyone. [Raid info > Personal de-buffs > everyone else's de-buffs] This would satisfy the dev's worries about info not being relayed adequately, but also would allow for personal buff tracking in cases where there isn't 5 mechanic notification (tbh, I can't think of a single instance where there are 5 indicating buffs for a mech). Since ARR I have been waiting for a buff sorting feature to be added to FT. Its sad that the only shot they seemingly took at it got scrapped because of fears about mechanics not being relayed when there is such an easy middle ground between the two positions. Any thoughts or related suggestions welcome.
