Treasure Maps need to be more accessible and more integrated

Treasure maps are great. They’re fun, rewarding and engaging, solid content really. However it’s becoming increasingly hard to find parties to do them, they’re a bit of a content island these days. 2 things that for sure hurt it are; Party Finder just not being all that good outside of the high population worlds, and maps only being from Khloe or 80 gathering.

My suggestion would be to give it the same sort of treatment as ocean fishing. You queue, it matches you with a party and plops you into an instance (hell could even just use diadem or plain ShB maps) and gives you a bunch of rng treasure chests to find in the area. I’d probably keep the same coffer/portal loop and the dungeon itself. Any way to matchmake and get more people involved would improve the experience by so much.

I miss the days of HW when you could treasure hunt all day every day. There was such a sense of community back then and, at least here on ragnarok, it’s just not there these days

I dont see why any of your ideas would draw in more players. You can already party finder across data center for this with no limits.

After you would que it would put you right into the instance then?
Or would it just match you with a party you could meet on the overworld to try and follow deciphered maps? Because I think that would just fracture the playerbase further. Half of the players would try and form through PF and half through the DF. Even less would get done.

I think they're just not active because 2-3 player groups can clear them so most people just do it with their friends.

Honestly I never knew treasure hunting was a thing until Stormblood and I’ve been playing since 1.0. Guess I glossed over it at some point. My last FC leader used to say it’s a great way to make money, but I’ve only gotten to do it one time with them. So yes I agree this is content that can stand to see better integration.

I just like that it is something you can do with few people you know and trust or go 8 in and you can do when ever you please. The stuff / gil isn't the main attraction for me but it is a good part of it. I just wish there were more types of content like this and also the fishing trips, but glad to see it getting updates.

For sure though I’d love to see more content like this, fun stuff that everyone can participate in is always good

people want to go thru the new msq/raid/ex content first rather than treasure map partying tbh probably. give it time for the new stuff to get worked thru and then you'll probably see more pf's for maps. or make your own. people are so aversive to being the one to start parties it's baffling. you want to do content you start it.

Hmm I'd be interested in starting fresh in that neck of the woods. Maybe I can come check it out.

Some sort of queue system for treasure maps does feel like a good idea to me. I'm not sure exactly how they would implement it, but if I could go out and grab myself a treasure map and then just queue up for a hunt like I could a dungeon I would definitely do it. Treasure maps for me are on that borderline of "fun enough to do" but not "fun enough to organize for"

There are always several listings in Party Finder on my server. Don't even need a full party. 1 tank 1 heal and just like 4 dps is enough.
