I don't know if there's a thread for this already, and I apologize if there is. It's a week old now, but I thought it was a really fun an interesting interview that's gone fairly unnoticed. And wanted to put it on everyone's radar if they haven't seen it already.

That part about Diablo 1 and people using trainers with Town Kill made me laugh, man i remember those days Damn ear collectors lol
FFXIV, being focused on small scale and short duration content, is already far closer to Fortnite and other multiplayers games than older MMO.Quote:

And that's why executives would logically avoid "MMORPG" now : because of the success of FFXIV, following WoW template, the expectations around the MMO genre have been cemented into "high quantity of short (and often low quality) content", which isn't very impressive to players but is very expensive to produce.
