This is not a thread about which job will come out. Which job do you think Derplander will take up as the expac’s main theme job?
I’ll go first: Scholar.

Bard is my estimate.
Derplander started as an Archer in 1.0. I'd guess red mage myself.
I'm gonna guess Machinist on this one.
In order to answer the question of what, you'd first need to answer the question of where.
Ishgard for Dragoon, Ala Mhigo's got monks, Far East has samurai and Norvrandt doesn't have a signature class associated with it but, y'know, "Warrior of Darkness" is a perfect fit for Dark Knight. That being said, all of these classes have also been physical. I doubt he'd pick up spellcraft any time soon. He also has, as mentioned, Warrior and Bard already under the belt.
I've got no real idea where we're going, all I know is that when Garlemald hits he's definitely gonna gunbreak.
He's never been a caster before, and he's usually been a job not represented among the main Scions (sole exception being monk, but that spotlight was shared with samurai, and Lyse leaves the Scions at the end).
My guess is paladin. It kinda seems like the default job (watch the cutscenes at the end of Praetorium where we strike down Lahabrea with the blade of light; if you do it as any non-2.0 job, it defaults to a sword and shield), and given the hints that we're approaching the end of the Hydaelyn/Ascian plot, it seems like a nice bookend. Plus it would contrast with Shadowbringers' dark knight.
With the exception of Archer, they seem to always favor a physical, melee style job for him to fight up close. I would guess Paladin or Ninja or any new physical DPS, if they dare add another despite the need for healer. Machinist would be my other guess if they go for range. They also tend to go for jobs that the other scions don’t use and since Thancred is no longer a Rogue, Ninja is up for grabs and no Paladin or Machinist in the scions either. Magical jobs seems like they feel don’t suit him for some reason. I guess it’s not dramatic enough since they seem to want him to always fight up close in the cinematics.
He's a melee fighter, so no ranged classes or healers.
He will either go back to being a warrior, his most iconic job, or he will become a paladin.
Rdm because can really verflare it up in a trailer harder with other casters if they want to keep spell casting as a thing if not any caster has flare to do good in a trailer so any job is viable
