ARR Transition to HW

I want to start off by saying that I think the gameplay of your game is solid. The mechanics are engaging and combat feels good. I don't have much to complain about in that regard. However, I played a few years ago and decide to come back and start a new character to give the game a shot one more time. The level 50 MSQs are atrociously exhausting and absolutely arbitrary. I really suggest making those Quests side quests instead of MSQs. A couple of friends informed me that a story skip could be purchased through the Online Store. It blew my mind. It's shocking to know that you monetize something like that. I'm failing to understand exactly what was going on here. But, one thing I can assure you, is that I almost cancelled my subscription over this. It's a very grueling quest line that is a huge time sink. Maybe it's not been an issue brought up before, but I would believe that's not true seeing that you monetized a story skip. There are ways to make this better and I hope you do make it better for future new players.

Its funny you bring this up as it was recently cut down by 20 quests and some of the remaining quests were shortened or changed.. tho they have made the crystal tower series of raids necessary for progression. But I agree the quest line between expansions is still far too long, imo. Chopping it down another 20 or so quests would feel better but I'm glad they removed as much as they did.

I'm in the minority that was only slightly miffed with the amount of MSQ quests from ARR to HW. Then again I was more invested in the story than anything else because I saw staples of classic Final Fantasy left and right. Screw the build up to Titan though, that was just unnecessary and reckless.

The quests leading up to HW after initially completing ARR are the best part of ARR.

From 1 - 50 and then the credits is the "front half" of ARR. That's one complete story. Then you get the Back half, all level 50 requirement, no exp rewarded. Until the credits roll again, and your in heavensward. That's actually the BETTER story from ARR. It's a full year of material, just like the front half was a full year of material.

I know, you want to just be in heavensward, but your only half way, you have another year of content to get through. HW, SB, and ShB are all laid out in this way.

You do get SOME exp from the patches, but less for sure.
