Further description:
I've done exactly as the quest has asked, collected 20 of each memory from 3 different locations from the ones provided. Cross checked they are the correct ones from online sources like the FF XIV Wiki:

Tortured, Harrowing and Sorrowful

The quest simply won't complete.

Try unequipping your relic weapon, you still have to be the RDM class though so yes, you will need to find an old or buy a new main hand weapon just to hand in the quest. Wack

That one had me stumped for ages. I was checking and double checking i had the items, but I couldn't complete it. In the end I saw a note like yours to just add any old weapon instead and it could be done.
