Really impressed with the FPS boost and loading times/performance on PS5.

While I was expecting load times to improve playing on PS5, I had no idea that performance would be impacted as well, and I have to say the FPS boost to 60 is quite an adjustment for someone who has only played on PS4 and PS4 Pro since 2013.

The game is just so dang smooth. It is almost hard to get used to right now because as I run and move it feels like I am gliding in silky smoothness. Also, the load times are legit awesome. The fact I can load into Limsa in less than 5 seconds with legit almost no delayed character pop in is impressive.

This really gets me excited for what a full-on PS5 upgrade could bring to the game and possibly PC if they decide to do a texture re-work.

Anyway, this lowly console player is happy to join the higher FPS club now. :D

Why would performance not be better on PS5? Its GPU is 6x as powerful as the original PS4 and 2.5x compared to PS4 Pro. CPU clock is almost double as well.

I am not saying it wouldn't. Just saying I was impressed. I wasn't expecting the higher framerates as I thought the game was locked at 30 FPS on console.

yes, the 60fps is a huge difference, I notice it a lot when I go between my ps4 and pc copies

you are right though, a texture update would do wonders for the game now ps5 is here

Ah, yeah. A lot of console games certainly seem to be developed for (and locked at) 30 fps, where PC games usually aim at 60 fps or higher.

My PS4 Pro never ran this at 60 FPS. The difference is almost night and day between the two for me (but I was playing in PS4 Pro 4K mode which I think is 4K at 30 FPS) while the PS4 HD Mode is Performance with higher FPS. So to have BOTH now is nice.

Ah yeah 4k was 30 fps. Now you can do 4k60 fps :p

How is the game when a lot of people are gathered fx. at hunts or the big SHB fates? Same as PS4 or better model loads?
