Big fps drops.

Hello,

I got some massive fps drops when using 82fps (refeshrate ½ option).
This problem seems to be there if I play on Windowed Borderless.
FPS I get is around 15 / 20 FPS. (In windowed border less)

This issue is only when playing FFXIV and never had this issue before.

Pc specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x (No overclock)
GPU: RTX 2080S (No overclock)
RAM: 32GB (No overclock)


What I already tried:
- Lower in game settings.
- Ran the game on other monitor.
- Turned of DX11 in config.
- Re-installed GPU drivers.
- Turning off most/all background applications.
- Re-installed the game.
- Re-installed the game on a different ssd.
- Did a virus scan (Nothing found)

*Windows 10 and all the drivers are up to date.
*CPU temp: 52c (After 30 min of gameplay)
*GPU temp: 72c (After 30 min of gameplay)

Hope you can help me :(.

The game seems to run smoother when I alt tab out to my second screen, but goes back to slow again when I go back to the game.

Tried the following things as well.

- Disabled all programs under Start-up in Task Manager.
- Lowered the res of both my screens to 1080P.
- Turned off G-Sync.

Edit:
- Ran game as admin.
- Right click on game exe => Properties => Compatibility => Check the box in front of Disable Fullscreen Optimizations.

Problem still there.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
4) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card

Thanks for the support.

Fixed it by resetting Windows 10.
Settings => Updates & Security => Recovery => Reset This pc. => Did the reset that kept all personal files, but removed all programs and software.
