Looking for advice on graphical glitch.

Hello everyone. ^^

I noticed that when i move up or down in height level, like going up or down a small hill or steps ... that my character vibrates up and down very quickly, including my name. It is a bit hard to look at and happens almost every time i walk up and down various heights. I notice it more at certain camera distances than others, but it stall happens everywhere, from open terrain to closed spaces.

I'll put some of my system specs in case that helps. I can run the game on very high settings, but i use the default settings in the ffxiv config utility and in the system options under config in the game as well.

I5 2500k processes
8 gig ram 1333
SSD hard drive, plenty of space
GTX 560 ti 2 gig memory
asrock etreme 3 gen 3 motherboard

I would like to know if there is some way i can tweak my game to help alleviate this problem while still preserving my frame rate and graphic quality.

its a day one bug and it happens on both ATi and Nvidia Cards, there's nothing you can do about it as its an engine bug.

i suspect lag or Delay is the culprit, when your character moves horizontal and vertical positioning information is reported to the server, however by the time it gets to the server you've already moved again there for its displaying the old Hor/Vert position the jitter or micro jump is the server catching up, but do to lag delay or other networking issues if the positional information is late once its always going to be late.

you can usually tell if you got the bug if your character starts floating or your feet start clipping into flat ground. you can restart the game and it might fix it but the moment the delay happens title start all over again.

if your wondering why it doesn't auto correct itself that's because the Server always gets the last word, if the server says your one step behind it, your one step behind it, even if your client says/displays otherwise.

It has nothing to do with lag. What's happening is your camera is hitting the edge of its distance limit. You can fix it by moving your camera a little bit closer.

The explanation about server lag sorta makes sense, but i'm not an expert on these things ... that would seem to mean that there isn't much i can do about it D:

As for the camera explanation ... what do you mean by hitting the edge of it's distance limit? ... what do you mean by distance limit?

I get the jitter when i go up and down heights the most, it happens at all camera distances, even right on top of my character, it just happens more at different distances, and it doesn't happen when i'm running on a smoothe surface at all. Though even if moving the camera closer helped i think i might want to stay where i am so i can at least see where i'm going XD

Everyone gets this problem, its a problem with the current servers that where on. Hopefully be fixed in 2.0, like everything else. I noticed this to when i first started playing and had the exact same question lol, it is very annoying.

On my PC raising the camera vertical position a lil bit helped with the name shake thing.
