Am I the only one who would love to "walk" to the gold saucer?

We see it in the distance and we see it even more now that we can fly around Thanalan... But it's still so far away. Why can't we walk there? Why can't we fly there? I'd love to see it up close, it's been taunting me since I first saw it a few years ago. Please SE, make a path to see it! I know, it's a stupid request but I'm sure I'm not alone... Right?

That would be really cool. In fact, I hope in some new expansion they add more stuff to all the ARR zones!
