adjust dialogue box speed?

heyho!

so, i'm really sorry if this is a stupidly redundant question, but i'll try and explain the issue i'm having as well as i can. for context, i'm a console player who uses a bluetooth keyboard to chat with (as the console interface is just...terrible) and unfortunately i fear that may have been the problem.

prior to fumbling and accidentally pressing something on my bluetooth keyboard tonight, whenever i was progressing voiced or unvoiced dialogue, the text would gradually appear line by line in the dialogue box, and i would have to press x (num 0 by default i think) once to get the text to fill the box, and again to get the text to advance, so that every dialogue advance required two presses of the advance button.

now whatever i did tonight, my dialogue is instantly appearing in the boxes, and i only need press advance once now to advance the dialogue. i didn't enable the auto-advance so it's not really that issue, although all i can find online is stuff pertaining to that. i'm not even really certain how to describe my issue, so hopefully what i've written above is understandable.

i've searched through menus (damn character config and system config being two different things...) and i've tried turning my game on and off but nothing's made a difference. i understand i could probably just try returning to default settings but i'd rather not have to do that unless absolutely necessary.

anyway, if anyone knows what might be the issue and what i could do to resolve it, i would be so so grateful!
