Give AST a single target alt to Earthly Star

This is a skill I expect would be most useful in dungeon runs. The function is the same as Earthy Star with the wind up. However, it's a buff that's given to the target instead of placed on the ground.

First 10 seconds = 500pot heal
10-20 seconds = 800 pot heal

Shares a cooldown with Earthly Star.

With this ability, you miss out on the 150 AoE damage that you get from Earthly Star, but I believe that's compensated with extra healing, meaning more DPS spells can be cast. This skill eliminates the frustration of tanks not standing inside Earthly Star!

My only concern with this ability is that it would feel similar to Scholar's Excogitation. However, the two abilities are fundamentally different.

We need more ways to do damage.
Whm: direct damage spells
Scholar dots that debufff slow, poisons, shrinks to reduce damage
Astro cards to bufff crit for ranged buff direct hit for melee mitigate damage for tanks and buff in compact runsoeed for mages.

Even if you boosted the healing potencies by 50% I don't think I'd ever use it. Earthly Star is like a free Gravity that heals people who took aggro or got clipped by an aoe in dungeons. I find that I almost never ever need to use uptime GCDs for healing in content below E8S, and in harder content it's generally raidwide healing that's required. Essential Dignity and Celestial Intersection cover the majority of single target healing outside of TEA.

Does AST need the extra healing though?
I'm not sure the tradeoff is worthwhile (unless you're suggesting an additional skill and not a replacement).

I don't think AST needs another single target heal when Essential Dignity has 2 charges. You can also use your AoE oGCD heals to help heal the tank in dungeon pulls. For dungeons, you have more AoE oGCD heals than you need anyway and don't have to save them.

We need more dmg spells if they want us to dps. Spamming malefic or gravity is not fun.

Cards are also part of your dps skillset. Two extra buttons every 30s and another every 180s minimum, if you don't need to redraw.

WHM has the short straw in the dps skillset department, closely followed by SCH.
By comparison, AST is in a fairly good place.

Not to say that the best in this category cant be improved, but I also think AST has too many buttons as it is.

I'd prefer an ability which allowed us to convert a drawn card to an AOE for the group. Oh wait.. we had that...
