Bizzare Launch Crash
Good evening,
I've found for the past week i'm having a very bizzare launch glitch that's not allowing me to play the game. As soon as I start up the game, I get this error

I considered that perhaps something went wrong with the last update so I did a fresh install of my game and I'm still getting this error!
Please someone help!!!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this crash happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Where in game does the crash occur? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Like i said in the OP, i had completely reinstalled my game, so a fresh install shouldnt have any corrupted files. I tried launching it with most of my programs closed and it still crashes. It happens quite literally during the start sequence, around when the square enix logo pops up. i notice im still able to interact with the game window and can log in fine, but the crash popup stays on the top of my screen. ive also noticed theres no audio playing, so perhaps is an audio based problem thats causing a crash?
Unfortunately, i cant give a system report... when i follow your instructions and hit the display button, nothing happens. Heres my information from the windows system information screen, hopefully that can help in place of the FF14 system info

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.
When playing Final Fantasy XIV, are there any other any programs running in the background? Additionally have you updated the graphics drivers to latest version?

EZFRD64.DLL and WINMM.dll are library files typically used with Joystick or GamePad/Game Controller type devices. The WINMM.dll library also works with the audio system, so it crashing can also knock out audio in addition to the controller device.
If you are trying to use a device like that with the game, see if it is actually a compatible device for the game and update the drivers of those devices.
If you use it for another game and not for FF14, then disconnect it before launching FF14.
If you do not have such devices, then uninstall the drivers/device software for them from your computer.

I am actually mad how correct you were. I had a steel series 3GC plugged in i was playing other games with. and somehow... that was causing ff14 to crash... ive used it with ff14 before and it worked fine but i usually dont play with controller...
so i guess that was the solution to my problem... that was so needlessly aggrivating...
Thankyou so much for your help
