Are you kidding Square Enix? With all the subscription woes that you have, you condense the servers and then to bolster subscriptions you lock down new character creation?!? So I start on a server (Masamune in this case) a week ago, have a lot of fun with it, go tell all my friends to come give it a try, only wait.... New character creation suspended. Bad form squenix bad form...
I know how you feel kind of. I have alot of friends starting to join Aegis server coming from FFXI and we are supposedly full too, hopefully they can open the servers manually or something like they were doing during the transfers at night.
This..... Seems strange?! o.o
My LS was in the process of getting guildies from other games into this one (Aegis). The server lockdown occurred midway through the process... win!
This is another Square Fail. They need to open and just put in Ques then, because they are starting to get ppl back. Locking ppl away from friends is a good way to make them reconsider.
SE is on a roll today. First confirmation that Ifrit totem drop rate is perfectly fine, no changes needed, and now locking servers to new players! They should do an emergency maintenance that leaves uldah rooms still broken.

Here ya go, they are working on the Problem on these 4 Worlds:
- Masamune
- Durandal
- Aegis
- Gungnir
It's only for the best, all your pals would get on and realize is still a very boring game and quit anyway. This saves them the trouble. Where's my 2.0 fix?!
It may have to do with how the server merge was organized by adding to (or three) other worlds. Those worlds were not all the same size, so some merged worlds may have reached their limits sooner. Maybe they also underestimated the number of people returning (or joining).
Now that the experiment is over, seeing if inactive accounts are going to re-sub after trying out the changes for free, and noting that not many inactive accounts actually did re-sub, can we open the servers again? Pretty-please?
