Airship and Submarine discovery rate

I have 2 airships that are at least 90 surveillance yet despite that, for the past week-2 I haven't been able to discover any more sectors, while for my submarine despite focusing on surveillance, the rates still feel rather low.

Have there been any discoveries given like success rate for finding a new Sector, or the impact surveillance has?

It almost feels a bit broken going through it, as I haven't had any issues maxing out my airships in a previous FC.

if you have the surveillance for it (and it's not necessarily linked to that stat) it just comes down to whether rngesus likes you or not.

Rng is rng.

Yes I know RNG is RNG, but is there any good resources on this? It seems like a lot of data is out of date and it's a lot of filler information for me rather than getting to see the answer I want.

It's very RNG heavy. I have an alt I'm using to help friends get their FC workshop in order. Sector 19 finally unlocked 2 weeks ago after 6-7 weeks of trying. Now the only sector left to unlock is 24.

Thinking back, I can remember having the same miserable luck when I was trying to get that Sector unlocked for my FC. Once I got past the roadblock, the other sectors unlocked fairly quick. I imagine the success chance was intentionally made low back when we only had airships to drag out progression.

Just stick with it, it will happen.

Thank you, I already know of these 2 and they're part of having to sift through information when I'm just looking for answers or in the case of airships, out of date and a huge wall.

You can only "call" the Airship one "out of date" only because there hasn't been any updates to the in game Airship system for a few years now, other than removing the ability to ride on your airship..... Meaning it is actually up to date.

So, assuming your airships are max Rank and built with components that are best for unlocking destinations, then the only three things that would effect your dry spell on discovering more sectors are:

1. You have already discovered all known sectors
2. You are not exploring the correct sectors that branch to new sectors you have yet unlocked
3. RNG

The Sector Information section of the first post in the Airship thread has each sector listed, and what additional sectors are discoverable (if any) off a given one.
There are only 24 sectors total.
The sectors are not a linear progression, there are branches that fork off from lower level sectors and lead to higher end ones, that then may dead end.
If you miss an unlock off a sector, then never return to that sector, then the whole branch that would have been unlocked will never show up, so double check that you have hit each sector that then unlocks additional sectors and hit them repeatedly until the additional sectors unlocks.

An Odyssey/Odyssey/Enterprise/Bronco at Rank 50 can unlock and reach every airship sector and find any item in the loot pool.

As for Subs, the current Submersible Information thread is updated very regularly, and has (to date) all known Seas, Destinations, and loot mapped out.
As above with the Airships, the Rank and build of your subs will greatly effect is performance and each destination may or may not lead to an additional destination, many even branch by two.
Once the sectors are all found and your sub is of sufficient rank, you then may find the unlock to the additional Seas each having there own sectors. (total of 3 Seas for subs so far)

I have two airships at rank 50.
I currently run a fleet of subs, three built/ranked as I mention in that post and one Rank 75 with Mod. Coelacanth/Mod. Unkiu/Mod. Syldra/Mod. Syldra in order to hit more destinations per voyage and bring back more items in count and amount.
Later, I will re-fit one of my explorer trio to be a short range mass hauler to farm Kamacite and such.
