Will skysteel tools be upgradeable anymore?

Trying to decide if I wanna spend the Gil on aesthete main hands but idk if the dragonsung tools will ever be upgradeable in a future patch. Anyone know?

Yep, the next upgrade will come with 5.35, so the next patch we'll be getting.

Whether or not they'll be BIS is unknown though.

I can perhaps give a clue.

Facet vs. current dragonsung:

Craft +735, Cont +400 vs. Craft 770, Cont 421.

If you max Craft facet is +70 & 6cps. If you max Cont facet is +44 & 6cps.

If you split evenly its Craft +35, Cont +22 & 6cps. Which beats the current dragonsung by 1 Cont & 6CPs.

I am willing to bet the next dragonsung will have Crafts 840 - 842, Cont 462 - 464 & 0 Cps.

Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr, Resistance weapons, and Skysteel tools updates are scheduled to be released in Patch 5.35.

SE already told us that only the final upgraded version of the Skysteel tools available at the end of the expansion will be BiS. Until then, fully pentamelded crafted tools will remain BiS.

Aesthete mainhands probably aren't worth it unless you really want to go hard on the expert crafts. Crafting is too easy for the negligible gain to have a noticeable impact on ordinary crafting and Dragonsung mh + Aesthete oh is already good enough for 4 star crafts if you pentameld your body gear.
