Suggestion: Add Rev's Toll and Idyllshire Expansion to NG+

I was recently reminiscing over how Revenant's Toll used to look way back at 2.0's launch. I remember when it was just an aetheryte, two buildings, and some boxes.

But, yeah, how would you guys feel about SE adding the build phases of Rev's Toll and Idyllshire to the game/NG+? They could tie viewing them to completion of the MSQ for that phase's respective patch.

The phase changes in Rev's Toll would require a bit of adjustment, of course, since they couldn't really move the vendors now. But still, I think it'd be really great if we could get something. Give people who didn't see it before a chance to, and to appreciate what the Domans' efforts bring about. Same for the goblins in Idyllshire.

I agree. I never got to see them as they evolved, but get the impression from dialogue that I should be looking at a far less complete town than what I can see.

I was really hoping the ARR rework would reintroduce stages of development tied to the MSQ, even if they have to maybe fudge it a bit to keep all NPCs in the same places throughout. At least some impression of the town developing over time as the characters still seem to perceive.

I had thought for Ishgard they could introduce a memoire station and you could load the old phases, perhaps something to consider here too. Perhaps cutscenes like beast tribes with a bit of a soft echo effect when you reach certain points in the story, telling you about the progression. Maybe let players choose to auto echo locations based on their progression, meaning they'd phase out into the past (something you'd have to turn on).

We're in a weird time bubble anyways, might as well go full in lol.

In general I think it would be nice if these big areas have a maximal progression based on the community but an active state based on your own status in the game (MSQ, sq, bsq, etc.). Might have stages sometimes progress naturally but they would sort of flag npc linkshell you to visit before the next stage (so you don't miss it, or you can decline and it'll move forward). In this way not every stage is always related to a quest, though certainly some would be.

As far as I can.. id love for them to add the 1.0 story to NG+ even if we played with current skills and setup since.. we already do that with newer skills or changes on past expansions..

For Ishgard it would be great if, once this collaborative building phase is over, the final goal is to have a "story version" of the Firmament fully populated by NPCs and morphing over time as you personally progress through the quests. Otherwise there are already jarring elements of dialogue like talking about its current ruined state and how it's going to be in the future.

Id like them to add Phasing Technology tbh. WOW does this really well and they already use this in the hinterlands and Yanxia with Alexander and the wall.

I am on two sides of this. On one, yes, but on another, this was something that active players were meant to experience by being there. The way others who come later learn it as tales. It IS exclusionary to say but in sense of, you traveled to this world at a later point, and the others in the world tell you tales of the past etc. It is one of those Dalamund moon elements from 1.0 that probably stuck with the team - much like 1.0 some things in this world always want you to be there to experience it, but not in way that you would have an unplayable game by coming in later, and old players have something to talk with new players.


But it is not generally a bad idea and having it somehow in NG+ would be best ways to implement something like this.
