Why make Miner and Botanist any harder to get skyward points?

What? I thought Miner and Botanist were already really brutal with earning Skyward Points from Diadem? Why would they make it any harder?

Just read the bolted part above that again.

They are only reducing the points you recieve for the old items. You will likely get the usual amount of points for the new items they added with this patch.

So basically, they're discouraging people to gather Phase 2 stuff, but encouraging people to gather Phase 3 stuff instead. That makes sense!
I certainly hope that MIN/BTN will have a easier time in Phase 3. Phase 2 had been very harsh with Skyward points for these jobs!

It's not any easier in P3. Think it was 32 points per 10 Artisanal and 35 points per 10 Umbral in P2 but now it's 13 points and 15 points per 5.

It's almost like they only expect the bot users to be going after the gathering achievements. Or they're trying to string things out into 5.4 and 5.5, fearing people will stop once they have their achievements completed.

I'm inclined to believe it's the second thing you said. I already have the mount, so if I was able to get all the phase 3 achievements before the firmament is complete for this round, I know I will stop regardless because I have no incentive to go back in.
