Summoner: Give them their own /battlestance and /victory emotes

Been leveling Summoner and I noticed when you use /battlestance it makes no sense for SMN. The emote has a very obvious "adjust glasses" motion which contextually wouldn't apply to SMN at all because they have a horn headpiece for their AF. Really the emote is clearly based on Scholar and if you look at EVERY SCH AF they are wearing glasses where that motion actually seems logical to do.

The current /battlestance makes sense for SCH, but seems silly for SMN. The /victory emote is technically fine for SMN but I feel like they could do something more fitting for the job that is summoning versions of primals no less and not this cute little nod that it does. But I'd accept the compromise of changing the /battlestance and leaving /victory the same if it means less acceptable dev work to get it done.

Maybe take a break from the cash shop emotes for one cycle and give SMN some love that's more fitting for the job?

Now, i would love for this to happen.. there is only one problem with it. Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar don't have victory or battlestance emotes; the animation set of the weapon type does.

Basically this. The stances are linked to the weapons. And since Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar all share the same weapon, the stances are the same. Additionally, the glasses motion is just that, a motion. It's something people do to emphasize intelligence, regardless of actually wearing glasses or not. It's rare but some people do do it.

Yeah, it's an arcanist emote with a bookworm theme, rather than belonging to either job.

Either way I hate it. It looks ridiculous when you get the occasional quests that go "impress us with your battle stance!" and we do some cutesy write-in-a-book thing that doesn't look threatening in the least.

Even though BLM and WHM both use staves they have different battle and victory poses. The same should be true of SMN and SCH. SMN should get something unique, they can reach back into FF history long enough to find an iconic SMN battle/victory pose.

I wish theyd just make the vpose the bstance , it looks more like one. Bstance is like im telling to the boss wanna go out get some coffee?

That's not the same equivalence.

SMN and SCH don't just share a weapon type, they share arcanist. Arcanist uses grimoires, has a specific battle stance and a book-reading "idle with weapon drawn" pose. SMN and SCH share all these things, and thus it's logical (if undesirable) that their bstance and vpose animations are also shared.

WHM and BLM have never shared these aspects despite their weapon types being physically similar. There is no crossover in the specific weapons they equip, and their stances are entirely different.

You're discussing class/job related lore and battle mechanics.
That has nothing to do with how one chooses to celebrate a battle.

It does relate because it's about the programming that drives the emote. It's based on class. You're effectively saying "CNJ and THM have different emotes so why can't ACN and ACN?"... and that's why the comparison doesn't work. It isn't the same situation at a programming level.

Just because they share the same base, doesn't mean they can't do different things. It's a fairly easy thing to implement assuming you had a custom emote. Source: I work as a game dev as a programmer.
