I logged into FFXIV today to take care of my dailies and everything that reset for the week. I went from my inn room in Limsa Lominsa to the Doman Enclave just fine, but when I went to Ishgard's Brume to get to The Firmament, I started getting this error. I updated my graphics driver, restarted my computer, and even deleted the FFXIV folder in My Games. Now, when I talk to Tomelin, the game just CTD. Not sure what I need to do to fix the issue.

Could you try installing the game on the C drive? Additionally were any changes or updates made to the PC that coincide with the crash?

09-02-2020, 09:22 AMRFAuroraHonestly, it's been on the D: drive for as long as I've been a subscriber and never had an issue until now. I don't like putting games on an SSD as well. As for changes or updates before this error, there were none. And from what I've read, I haven't been the only one with this issue today.Quote:

We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:
1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
4) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
5) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
6) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
7) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
8) Install Windows and FINAL FANTASY XIV onto the same drive
