Fairy Glamour

Who else wants to turn the fairy back into a carbuncle at the very least?

Eos and Selene are just skin swaps now and all the carbuncle animations are already in-game. Wouldn't take more than a half-hour to assign animations and slap together the command for fairies like the egis right.

Carbys were more a ACN/SMN thing so lore wise it might look a bit silly if SCHs starting running about with them too. Something Feo Ul inspired or Tonberry glams for the fairy, sure I could get on board with that.

Given carbuncle's more support-oriented nature throughout the series it's a refreshing sight to see them take the offensive route yes, but carbuncles in xiv are basic summons. All the ones we are able to summon are offence oriented, but I do believe Alphinaud's moonstone carbuncle is capable of healing. I know in trusts it just kinda pew-pews and gives damage buffs around, but it's been seen healing in instances prior to ShB. Like in the "roleplay" instanced solo duty when Alphi gets shot down in the burn. Going back to the previous statement, carbuncle is, even in the ACN lore, the most basic summon in the game to perform to do tasks. What stops a carbuncle from being a healing pet? ACN, the basics of summoning, is the root for BOTH SMN and SCH, so it wouldn't be as farfetched as it sounds.

Any sort of fairy glam would be welcome.

Carbuncle's animations don't really fit the fairy skills. Carby's abilities all cause damage, and that's a big reason why he works as an Egi glamour. Lore-wise, Carbuncle is also more specific to ACN and SMN so even if it was a thing; it would just be, weird. For lack of a better term. I think if SCH was to get fairy glamours, a certain aesthetic would need to be maintained. I think true fairy glamours would have to be something similar to Seraph in that Lily would have to take on the appearance of another winged-type familiar.

It could be a dragonette, moogle, pixie, even a magical tome. Lots of possibilities that would be potentially wasted if they just went Carbuncle tbh.

Guys lore wise acn/sch/smn is one thing , the reason they arent one is cause 1 it would be stupid op and 2 job stones.
Smn magic and Sch magic is both arcanima , theyre not different jobs but rather different specializations. Not only that 5.3 dropped the lore bomb that creation magic is arcanima, which means according to ehmet we can do everything imaginable except creating a school. Both sch and smn lore wise could make their pets look like manjimutt if they wanted to at this point.

That's not true at all. Yes, the connection between job lore and what the game designers choose to do with them is basically nonexistent when they feel like it, but if we're going by lore specifically then SMN/SCH pets are completely different. ACN/SMN pets are extensions of the caster's will (using math and geometry for ACN, shaping it based on a primal's aether blueprint for SMN) but Lily, the Scholar fairy, is neither of those things. She's a preexisting Nymian aetherial construct tied to the job stone. She's not a projection that has whatever appearance you concentrate on, she's her own separate being that you're summoning from inside your job crystal, not creating out of your own aether. That's the reasoning given in the past for no fairy glamours.

Now, they can reverse stance on that whenever, but let's not pretend that all three arcanist-based jobs are anything alike in their pet lore.

She is a pre existing aetherial construct tied to the job stone, but she is still an aetherial construct. She looks alive and like it has her own will but in reality she doesnt. if you want an example of something alike her on pure arcanima then we got one its the ghosts in the amaurot that ehmet created but more specificly Hythlodaeus.

Even Alphinaud's carbuncle is a damage pet despite him being a Scholar.
