service accounts

hi, i was after some advice from anyone who has been in this situation and had there issues resolved.
i play ffxiv on the ps4 and have progressed my character through all previous expansions up to shadowbringers.
any ways just bought a shinny new gaming laptop and thought id buy the ultimate edition so i can play my character on my laptop aswell. I bought the game from a third party website and logged in to mogstation but instead of clicking to register a new platform i selected the option to registered the pc edition to a new service account. ive filled in the form to transfer it over and basically been dismissed as i didnt purchase the game through an official square enix retailer.

i cannot see how this matters as i can purchase time and register a new character on the service account with my pc access but they cannot just close that service account down and transfer it to my 1st service account which all falls under the same enix id.

has anyone else had any joy with a similar situation as the chat lines and online chat are down and it takes a few days for emails to come back if they reply at all. im really annoyed at myself for registering it the way i did but i am in 2 minds whether to just sack the game off completely or start a fresh on my laptop

You should try being more specific.

What is the exact error the mog station is giving you? Word for word.

Also if you have a game code, all you have to do is log into your mog station account, that is shared with the PS4 account and register it. There should be no error, as long as its an actual code. To my knowledge there is no such thing as an "unofficial" code. Meaning the error you seem to be getting "you didnt buy it from Square-Enix" doesnt sound right at all.

Again, post more information for Square-Enix or a forum member to help you with.

You absolutely shouldnt have to start over, and you shouldnt have to buy the game again. Unless of course it was registered to another account.

Just try to be more specific.

You may have to submit a ticket via the Square Enix Account Management Portal to have them link the pc version to the correct ID if chat or phone are not up.

these are the steps i have taken
1, purchased a copy of ffxiv ultimate edition for pc
2, logged in to my exsisting account on mog station
3, mistakenly clicked add new service account instead of clicking register new platform
4 filled in the form which relates to my situation
5, recieved an email back with this response ''Unfortunately, due to the nature of the retailer from which you made your purchase, we will not be offering assistance in this case. We can only advise that you make purchases from an official retailer in future, such as the Square Enix Online Store.''

i find it hard to believe that the place of purchase has anything to do with my situation as if im happy to create a new character on the new service account, which i might add is the exact same loggin details that i use to access the ps4 version, i could play ffxiv and all the exps that i have registered. yet all i want to do is move it from service account 2 and place the product for pc in to service account 1 so i can play the same character.

I am mainly wanting to see if anyone else has had this same response and got it sorted or if i am missing something here that makes it totally impossible to swap something on an account i own to the correct service account.

Well, which retailer did you buy the key from?

If it was a shady key reseller site, yeah, I can see why they wouldn't.

Yeah, thats probably why. Looks like one of those fishy key reseller sites.

I really didnt know there was such sites just thought they were like anyother online shop, probably lessoned learned then but i still cant understand why they cant switch it even though they would clearly be happy with me buying a new subscription on that service account where i could access all content.

The less scrupulous sites get their keys illegally (stolen credit cards) and SE doesn't want any part of that as it'd be a PR nightmare, so they're playing it safe and telling you they can't accept your key.

Id understand that if they didnt give me access to the game but they have which is baffelling me. Will have to be more alert when purchasing in the future
