Noobish question about Guild Marks

I've read all the updates, but I've never been able to figure out... Is SE completely phasing out Guild Marks (I haven't earned any in a WHILE), or were they just planning on making them to be exchanged for the current items from now on?

From what I know you can't get more of them right now, and the trading them for items is a temporary use for them. It allows the people who built them up to get something for their trouble. As to "will the be brought back?" idk.

I don't have anything concrete from SE. My understanding was that guild marks are being phased out, but SE wanted to at least compensate any players who had taken the time to accumulate the guild marks and exchange them toward materia, shards, or gil.

Alright, thank you for the information. Now I need only carefully decide what I want to buy with them.

Now that materia stacks, it's really useful to spend them on a bunch of the same T1 materia for the Gambler's Crown.

They're gone. There is no way to earn them; those who already have them are being given one last chance to turn them into something worthwhile before they disappear.
