using the raw materials list to craft

In the new patch we can use the Raw Mat list to craft a specific number of an item...how do we use that feature. I'm a little lost lol.

It's not to start synthesis. It's to calculate the total number of materials needed and indicate if you don't have enough for the number of items you want to make.
