ARR sightseeing now broken (flying = no mount jump)?

I never did a bunch of the old sightseeing logs because I hate jumping puzzles and don't play RPGs for that kind of gameplay, so when flying was added to ARR, I was jazzed, thinking I could get access to more paintings.

But then I started going after them and realized that 1) you can't drop from mounts onto most of the vistas, even ones that look like they should be fairly traverse-able (like the roots in ARR sightseeing log #40 near Haukke Manor), and 2) mounts can't jump anymore, so the "puzzles" that need mount jumps are basically unreachable now.

Am I missing something? Like maybe you can land, but it has to be done a certain way?

You can change the setting so you have to press the jump button two times to start flying. This way you still can jump with your mount when pressing the button only one time.

I should add that many CAN be landed on (for example, the direct spots in ARR sightseeing logs 22 or 56), which is why this is frustrating.

In this same vein, is there any way to jump forward just a TINY bit using keyboard & mouse? I see people doing it in olllllld videos but every time I try to jump forward, it only goes a set amount (way too much).

Edited to add: I think I just solved my own problem- turn off run. Heh.

Basically gotta jump and hit foreward at the same time. The game calculates how far you jump by how far you've ran before you hit jump, so you've gotta jump right after starting to move for the little hops.
(also a reminder that turning your fps to 15 helps make weird jumps)
