Samurai Armor / Thief Job *tiny spoiler, not big*

Think it will be possible to implement Samurai armor in the game for Samurai? Possibly as an AF set?

I know usually peoples first response to this is "BuT NiNjA", but a lot of skills that are Thief specific have been removed from Ninja over the years. Remember that Ninja was released in Patch 2.4, and since then the game's combat systems have been radically transformed like... 3 times already. Picking and pruning abilities to streamline and adjust the jobs. So how could Yoshi-P and team create a Thief job? [Info from Patch 2.4]

Lets take a look at some of the old abilities Ninja started with, but over time, lost.

Kiss of the Wasp
Mutilate
Sneak Attack
Dancing Edge
Kiss of the Viper
Jugulate
Goad

Abilities Ninja still has but can be repurposed that belong to Thief

Mug
Trick Attack
Perfect Dodge

The rest of Ninja's kit is to theme of the Ninja job. I know the way these abilities work no longer function with the current gameplay, hence the suggestion of repurposing. I'm mostly grasping at straws here, and its a fun thought for me, but what do you guys think? Think Thief can become a possibility? Or will it forever live in the shadow of the Ninja?

i'm personally way more interested in getting a necromancer or berserker job. not sure thief would really work in an mmorpg, they're main gimmick tends to be stealing and that'd be pretty much useless in group content, people want you to help take down the enemies, not steal from them.

I don't think Thief is going to be a new job, considering Rogue exists... Even if only as a weaker version of Ninja... Blame ARR's questionable design choices.

That armor already exists in the game. Its the Genji set from Omega Deltascape.

I think that particular set on the Samurai is the Fending (a.k.a. Tank) set from Deltascape.

I'm personally more interested/intrigued by the whole "Ink Mage" thing from the dungeon, and the Apothecary healer mentioned by that little girl during the MSQ.

We could always use more Samurai armor, especially since Samurai can't wear most of the sets.
And frankly I'm somewhat unimpressed by the heavy Samurai armor in this game, it's so colorless.

And as much as I like the Hō-ō it's faded and hard to see in FFXIV. And you can't change its color.

There was so much teasing for different jobs this patch: Apothecary, Thief (that looked like Locke), Necromancer, Berserker (the last three seem unlikely but were teases none-the-less).
I also want to know what an Ink Mage can do. From the looks of it, they use books/tomes.

Well in most fiction "Ink Mages" use magical tattoos, I personally think they were showing a petless Arcanist and giving a fun name to them.

But so far the list of teased future classes in FFXIV has been interesting I'm still holding out for a Combat Hammer Class. (Tank, Heal, or DPS) Dual Hammers would be best. Geomancer would have Hammers, and they do healz. So my vote is currently on Geomancer, which might happen as White Mage is being groomed away from Stone. I can foresee glare replacing Stone at lower levels.
