5.3 Thoughts for PvP
It has been a while since I saw a patch that had majority of things get buffs. It seems as though some concerns were answered/dealt with by looking at it on paper. It's a start.
While I personally still wanted the DRG to get an ability or 2 adjusted I'm not going to adjust it now due to certain abilities being buffed (Addle for example). While I don't see much changing as far as this patch is concerned I'm interested to see what actually shifts with the playerbase. I'll start addressing things as soon as I'm done tinkering with things. Things still need to be addressed, but for now I'm satisfied with the patch.

RDM with 20% DR in FL is so funny, especially with the buffed defensive actions. What has gone from being terrified of melee 1v1 is now trading against melee 2v1, at least stalling for considerable time. It's the way damage reduction scales really well with healing received.

OP I'm glad to hear you're happy.
I'm kind of excited too. Some jobs that I just didn't dig in PVP just got some nice touches that have me trying them again.

Would have been perfect if War got Nascent Flash party restriction removed for PvP too. Would make Frontlines and Rival Wings more enjoyable imo. It's such a shame to lose out on such a powerful healing action if a party member just happens to not be around because they died or if you had to split up for some reason. It's even worse in Rival Wings because the party is only 4 people... and you can't even use Nascent Flash on an alliance member...

After played Secure again last night my only reaction is “oh wow, On Sal really created bunch of brainless zerging horde that don’t even know how Secure works at all”

If you think about it, it wouldn't have made sense to both nerf Dragoon and buff so many other classes. They are clearly going to wait and see how this shakes out first.

Just curious, is there a pattern to pvp changes? Do they normally wait until the beginning of next season to make pvp changeS?

It's allready pretty bad Paladin is the new number one tank. Dragoon is still the best melee by far, all casters are good and Dancer still seem to work aswell.
Paladin is pretty much unkillable and have way to many defensive cds on short cds they can spread out over time.
Dragoon build faster then other melee and everything is ranged and hits like a truck still.
BLM got buffed and hurts like hell now too.
