Dragoon Equipment Guide?

I used to love when I'd start out on a job in this game's predecessor and its Wiki had a complete Equipment Guide, level by level, for each slot. I've tried to find similar things for this game with mixed results.

In particular, I'm at Level 41 and still rocking a Tidesplitter. It's a Level 30 item and there are weapons since that level with higher Damage, but the Tidesplitter's Attack Power +22 (along with its other STR, DEX, and ACC bonuses) has been hard for me to part with.

Now, I'm not a MMO Math guy. I don't really understand (or care to) the concepts of fSTR or dSTR or whatever other small lowercase/big uppercase terminology governs the algorithms that comprise output results. I'm quite content with just being told when something needs to be upgraded, and also why without going into such specific and granular details. I feel like I should be upgrading my Weapon, as I see the damage of available alternatives increasing, but I'm not sure at which point that damage might be something that overcomes that Attack Power +22.

Can anyone provide a bit of assistance on that end? Thanks :)

Pick up a Mythril Lance, top-end damage will always trump ATK Power.

Honestly....get the highest lvl NM lance you can solo and just use that till 50; that's what you will see 70% of everyone doing, because it's free ^^. But yeah, if you want to see your options I like mozk, but prefer Mooglebox; sort by damage (or by level) and see what you can afford.

Without getting too into those gritty details you want to stay away from, base weapon damage is the greatest factor in determining your weapon, regardless of bonus stats a weapon may carry. Use your equipment for filling out +STR, +PTY, +Att & +Acc, choose your weapon solely on base damage.

Hands: Venerer's Bracers or wait until 43 for Woolen Bracers
Waist: Velveteen Longsash (Red)
Legs: Linen Trousers
Feet: Mythril-plated Jackboots

Follow Belial's advice for every other slot.

when your 50 i'm currently using all AF besides body, instead i'm using a cobalt haub with +17pie capping my str/pie at 290. use electrum gorget and if you can afford explores earrings. tourmaline bracelet with a tourmaline ring and rubelite ring. i find capping your two primary stats and then focusing on attk really increases your DPS. weapon wise remember that base damage is more important then stats on it, currently i'm using ifrit's harpoon

Cap is 350/310 not 290

Preliminary testing has shown that DPS is now the factor when calculating WS damage caps, while base damage effects auto-attack.
