Any chance we could have this for hunts?

With hunt trains being a thing and people using programs to spot them instantly it's almost like nobody ever bothers looking for these things anymore.

Still, I don't mind looking for them because it's somewhat fun, but sweeping entire maps only to find they are empty is kind of frustrating and a huge waste of time if you do it very often.

Would it be so bad that we had a message like when an S is around but for As too?

I believe something like "you sense the presence of a strong mark" instead of "powerful mark" for A ranks could work. This would give an invaluable tool for legit players to still go out and look for these things.

I wish the hunter scholars in every area had timestamps of hunts killed in addition to what you're asking.

Yeah, like the death count statue in Dark Souls II :P. Sounds cool. I mean why not.

I had kind of thought about making a request like this. I'm leveling an alt currently and wanted to get the "kill all the A ranks in each zone" achievements for that character... But because no one tracks old A ranks anymore, there are some A ranks that are very easy to find and almost immediately sniped after spawning, leading to them being constantly missing with zero indication of when they'll be back up. I have wasted a lot of time combing zones just to find nothing. I feel like I'll never find Unktehi at this rate. XD

I doubt they'd implement something like that. Part of the hunt is the chance to look but not find the mark.

I think the S rank message was in response to complaints by spawners not knowing it had spawned before those using the third party programs were alerted and arrived to kill it. Since Rank As automatically spawn without player effort, there's really no need.

I know Warcraft adopted an approach years ago, and FFXIV seems to be following similarly. "If information exists on 3rd party websites or tools, and everyone uses those, just put the info in the game itself."

That idea always stirs up controversy, as some players would rather discover things for themselves, and don't want the game to spoon feed them. That being said, I personally feel I'm more immersed in the game if the info I need is available in the game.

I love that they added gathering node times to the gathering log, because it saves me from having to open a browser. Next patch, they are going to let us search for crafting recipes by reagents, so no more web searches for "what is this odd item used for?". These still require you to have unlocked the item, so maybe they could add the same for hunts? (If you've killed it once, you can track when it spawns.)

That's why all of the hunts have spawn windows as opposed to fixed spawn times.

Being able to at least know whether or not a given hunt's window is open or closed would spare people from wasting time to trying to spawn something that's not even available.

At least were getting flying soon.. it will make getting to and spotting hunts much easier on people who don't have or can't use programs to search for them
