Stuck at level 50

So ive been grinding a bunch of low exp quests and idk how to start heavenward. Do i have to do EVERY single pre patch quest to start heavenward

Yes there is a year or so worth of patches which include story to enjoy before you get to the expansion.
It wouldn't make any sense to just jump right into Ishgard now without having a valid reason to.

You have to do all of the Main Story Quests, identified by the meteor symbol, for the patches 2.1 through 2.55. Side-quests are optional.

The reason the post 2.0 quests have so little XP is that, back in the day, they had no XP assigned, as there was no level above 50. That being said, if you do all of the MSQ you'll have a good start when you hit Heavensward.

On another note, you'll be able to get through them much faster when 5.3 releases on 11 August, as they streamlined the post 2.0 story quests. Doesn't help right now, though.

The latter portion of 2.x is notoriously long winded leading up to 3.0 and changes are coming in 5.3 to address it. You don't have to do every pre expansion quest, just the main story ones as notated by the MSQ symbol. If it seems like it's taking forever, that's because it does, in fact, take forever (unfortunately). It's worth it once you get to 3.0. Still my favorite xpac to this day.

The MSQ between ARR and Heavensward is almost half as long as ARR itself.

you have bought the expansion right? Not trying to be condescending its just that your title says stuck in level 50 not stuck in arr. nvm just saw youre level 52 at rdm

All u have to do is have a copy of the game that has HW registered to your account and do the main story quests till they lead u to HW, takes awhile but you'll get there eventually if u just keep doing your main story quests.

If you bought just the base game, I think it's the a realm reborn starting edition then that one is just arr and not the other expansions such as HW, my advice for anyone who decided to get this game is get the complete edition which includes all the expansions from a realm reborn to shadow bringers.
