Living Dead and other DRK QOL in 5.3

Just in case FFXIV Developer team still can't come up with the idea here is a simple fix.

New Living Dead

Living Dead Duration: 10

Grants the effect of Living Dead. When HP is reduced to 0 while under the effect of Living Dead, instead of becoming KO'd, your status will change to Walking Dead and Doom

While under the effect of Walking Dead and Doom, most attacks will not lower your HP below 1. If, before the Doom timer runs out, HP is 100% 50% restored, the Doom effect will fade. If 100% 50% is not restored, you will be KO'd.

Doom Duration : 10

Walking Dead Duration: 10 [Increases HP recovery via healing actions on self by 50%] [Walking Dead Effect will not be remove by healing until effect expired]




New version of "Sole Survivor" Ability

Marks target with the status Another Victim. If that target should be KO'd in battle, 30% of your maximum HP and MP will be restored. If the effect expires first, 20% of your maximum HP and MP will be restored instead.

Marks yourself with the status Survivor. If the effect expires , 30% of your maximum HP will be restored.

Acquired : LV.45

Duration: 10s
Recast Time : 120s

Honestly I would just ask for them to just give DRK a healing received boost whenever DRK's in walking dead. Like maybe 50-80% or something.
That will preserve Job Identity and be enough of a QoL so Scholars won't have to panic anymore.
Seems to be a simple implementation too.

Wouldn't be a QOL if DRK don't stand a chance of removing doom debuff by themselves.

My prefered option would be having the Walking Dead penalty hit MP and tally how much HP has been recovered.
So if you've only been recovered for 80% of your max HP, then the remaining 20% will be taken off of your MP, 2000 MP.
If you don't have enough MP, then you'll die.

This basically allows you to have an MP buffer on LD's healing requirement, which means you can be self sufficient if you can plan to have full MP when you use it.
It builds on DRK's MP management as well, maintaining job identity.

By that logic, should we also give WAR and GNG a way to restore their own HP to max after their invulns?

I don't remember forbid you to make a post to ask for it. Also by removing doom it doesn't restore DRK to full HP. Are you confusing? Maybe you want to read what I post again.

New question: Can't you just esuna doom away? Or will this one be special?

Wouldn't that make a mess with drk even more? since edge, flood and TBN require MP.

We can't. Only removed if DRK's HP restored to a total of 50% of their max HP while in Walking Dead&Doom [originally it's 100%]. The name could change to something like "last stand" or whatever the dev wished but Doom would still serve as the right message.

That's the draw back.
Losing an Edge/Flood is a lot less costly than dying.
