I'm gonna start off by saying that I can't STAND frontline, but it's the only thing that pops without waiting an hour for a single Feast queue. That said.
Team Balancing in Frontline is so needed right now. For one, if you queue as a class, you should be stuck AS THAT CLASS. YOu shouldn't queue in as a tank or a healer, and switch to DPS because "it's what I do best" or "I don't wanna get b*tched at". Call me old schooled, I don't mind longer queue times if each party of 8 had the proper balancing; 2 tanks, 2 healers, 4 dps. I grow so tired of seeing 7 DPS and 1 healer, or 6 DPS and 1 healer 1 tank (which works a lot better than the frequent 8 DPS parties I've been in as of late). A lot of people are going to disagree with me in the sense that, I'd rather have longer queue times for better team composition.

A better team composition will very slightly raise the chances of your team winning. It doesn't equal a victory.
On top of that forcing a team composition may be a hinderance to some of your games. You can have players to switch to certain classes, but if they're not efficient in that class that player won't be of much help to the team at all, especially if they cannot survive for long in that class. Everyone should be willing to accommodate for the party instead of trying to force a team comp that may not work the way it was intended in one's eyes.
To finish this off there's a lot more players that wants to play a dps class majority of the time. It's natural. By following what you suggested pvp queues will look like pve queues with dps having to suffer with the waiting times. It's bad enough that you can't tell how many people are in a particular pvp queue. We don't need a restriction like that on top of what are already have. There's already been a lot of things that's either been restricted or taken. -

Also, if people care about composition being able to swap to accommodate your team is invaluable. Like, I usually go BRD, but if I see we don't have a tank I'll do it.
We have the tools to make a balanced party right here, people just don't care. -

It's one of the times FFXIV is borrowing from other large scale multiplayer games like TF2, which is a good thing and they should be doing more of it to improve PvP.
With how different the maps are, jobs are, the way jobs can impact team composition more than role, mean you should be able to adjust based on what you have. SAM for example adds to the general bulk of your composition more than the other melee do. There's also advantages that are more by job than role; selecting RDM in FL can offer lockdown for your alliance if there is an absence in warriors. There's just so much of a range of what the jobs are doing in PvP versus PvE. We can also just be able to shift to suit the needs of our team.
It's really a whole different beast from, say, dungeons in PvE, where there are more similarities between performance, what you can contribute, who is expected to take damage from what attacks, how much CC is allowed to matter, etc., and it's good FFXIV is making changes to suit the nature of large scale PvP. With Feast, I'd imagine it's different here in large part because the sensitivity of game balance is much higher here, and it's much, much, much easier if ranged DPS are compared to just other ranged DPS, rather than having to balance them to be 100% comparable to all the melee and all the tanks and all the healers. -

Frontline balancing is actually way way better since people were allowed to que as one class and then switch.
What you might be assuming is that the game ques up a balanced match and then people mess it up by switching. This is pretty much mostly wrong.
Mostly the game's match maker doesn't seem to know what makes a match balanced or not in terms of jobs. Healers have always been strong and you need a good number of them, roughly about 2 per 8 man party. Melee are really strong right now in that it's a lot easier to be really good with them than ranged.
So mostly, switching allows people to balance out their team a lot more in practice and that's what they tend to do. -

Do you guys think the premade issue in frontline is addressed? from my observation every 2 or 3 matches there will be a alliance filled with 2-3 premades and they win with score like 1600/800/800.
As someone who really doesnt like the premades, can SE just disable premade party in frontline,or maybe made a 8v8v8 version for premades? -

I'm not sure about pre-mades, but all I know is that for the last month my win rate is I think more like 20%-25%.
After they originally got rid of letting people choose their Grand Company it was pretty close to 33% for a long time.
Pretty sure I don't personally make teams lose that much, although I do play with a controller lol. -
