Strange FPS drops

Hello. Didn't log in to FF XIV for a month or so, today I did it and encountered some problem that makes game almost unplayable: while just moving character, fps drops from usual 100-110 to around 5. Already tried changing graphics, limiting PFS to 60 etc - nothing helps. I never had such problem before, so maybe anyone got a solution?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

It started happening 2 days ago, before that last time I played the game at May. For the time that I didn't play there were several updates for Windows and several driver updates for graphics card.

I’m also having this problem started happening last Thursday game will only run at 6 FPS and lower setting will only go 18 FPS even in my house will run at 22 FPS and tried other game but seem it only FFXIV that have this problem.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs.
3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
4) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
5) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
6) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
7) Install Windows, Steam and FINAL FANTASY XIV onto the same drive (C:/ drive if possible)

You're running the latest 451.48 drivers for GeForce, I see. There's a known issue with those where if you have the 'low latency' mode enabled—especially in the Ultra mode—it really messes with FFXIV's framerate, which is not something that happened on previous revisions of the driver.

Presumably Nvidia will fix this soon enough. In the meantime, if you open the Nvidia control panel and go to the 'Manage 3D Settings' option, make sure the 'Low Latency Mode' setting is turned to 'Off'. If it is not, then there's a decent chance that's your problem.

If that setting is already off, hopefully Rhaervis' suggestions can help you.
